Bio - Rene Lainez

I grew up in Queens, NYC until I was ten years old. Later I moved to Arlington, VA where I lived until I joined the Air Force. I joined the Air Force back in 2004 and separated on May 3, 2008. I worked as a GIS Technician where I supported USAF engineers and intelligence personnel. While in the USAF I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota. I had the chance to travel to the Middle East a couple of times. I was lucky to spend about a year and a half of my life in Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar in support of operations there. I had fun in the USAF and miss it sometimes but is nice to have my freedom back again.

Today I am attending school at NVCC. I am pursuing a degree in Information Technology and plan to concentrate in networking. I am currently using my GI Bill to pay for school so it kind of helps. I'm planning to transfer to a 4 year school this coming fall. As of now i'm just enjoying school and trying to get the best grades as I can!
